Work Hardening Alloys In heat-treatable alloys, ‘strain hardening’ not only enhances the strengths achieved by precipitation but also increases the reaction to precipitation hardening. Work hardening is used liberally to produce strain-hardened tempers of the non-heat-treatable alloys.
